I bought this pen to wear on my shirt as a Police Officer. I thought it would be useful for certain confrontations and recording statements here and there.
It works as designed and is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. Basically you push the top button for 2 seconds to cut it on. Then when you tap the top button it will take pictures until you tap the button again.
To get it to take audio/video you have to turn it on by holding the button for 2 seconds, let go, give it about a second to turn on. Then press and hold it for another two seconds. That puts you in video mode where tapping the button starts it to record. Once you get the hang of it, it’s not bad at all. I do wish it worked like a click pen where you could go from off, to recording with one press. That would make the whole system much easier. However for the price, it works fine.
The instructions are a little goofy due to translation errors, but they are simple enough to understand. I’ve used it on windows XP and Vista and each time it opened up quickly and was as easy to use as any thumb drive. I’m satisfied for my $40 (4gb version). I can’t testify to it’s durability as I haven’t put it through anything tough. I’d use it with a light touch and make every attempt to keep it from dropping or getting wet.
The audio and video quality are better than I expected. When I was holding it in my hand I noticed some static in the audio. However when it was pinned to my shirt the audio was very clear. I suspect some static is coming from just moving it around so much from holding it with your hand. Just walking around with it in my pocket worked great. It’s a 2 mega pixel camera so while it’s not breathtaking quality, it’s very functional for the price.
A few guys at work are getting ready to order some of these after seeing mine.

I was surprised with the quality of the pictures, video and sound that this inexpensive camera produces, along with long battery life. The operating instructions are a bit unclear and the single button control to change operating modes is a bit tricky to use, but all in all, it’s a good buy.

For the price, I didn’t expect it to work well but I was wrong. This is an excellent product. I comes with a dual voltage charger and USB extension cable. The photo and video is super clear and the sound it excellent. The user manual is preloaded on the USB drive and my computer had no issues recognizing it as a USB camera. Perfect. It is even a real working pen!
